This lure is ideal for shallow areas where depth is an issue. It needs either a slow constant retrieve or you can zig-zag the lure with a walk the dog action. With the the tip of your rod near the water it will only dive to 18 inches. No rattle is needed in such shallow water. The weight transferal system also allows good distance when casting into the wind.
